Returns & Final Sales

The Distelheim Gallery, LLC

At The Distelheim Gallery, the act of acquiring a work is never treated as a simple transaction. It is a considered moment—one that unfolds through context, conversation, and connection.

Each work we present carries with it not only material presence, but narrative, authorship, and place within a larger body of work. For this reason, acquisitions are approached with intention—and once completed, are considered final.

A Considered Process

Whether a work is encountered online, through private correspondence, or within a salon setting, collectors are invited into a process designed to provide clarity and confidence before acquisition.

This may include detailed artwork narratives, material specifications, and condition transparency. In many cases, collectors engage directly with the Gallery—and often with the artist—ensuring that the work is understood not only visually, but contextually.

Additional images, video, or conversation are always available upon request. We encourage collectors to take the time they need.

Because of this level of access and engagement, the decision to acquire is made with intention—and with that intention comes finality.

Final Sale Philosophy

All acquisitions are considered final.

The Distelheim Gallery does not offer returns, exchanges, or cancellations once a work has been secured. This reflects both standard practices within the fine art market and our belief that collecting is an act of alignment rather than impulse.

Variations in color, texture, and surface are inherent to original and limited-edition works, and digital representations may differ slightly from the work as experienced in person. These nuances are part of the work itself.

When Something Is Not as Intended

While returns are not part of our model, we recognize that the physical journey of a work—from studio to collector—requires care.

If a work arrives with material damage sustained in transit, or if there has been an error in fulfillment, we ask that you contact the Gallery within 48 hours of delivery.

Documentation, including photographs of the packaging and the work, allows us to assess the situation thoughtfully. Where appropriate, and at the Gallery’s discretion, we will work to resolve the matter—whether through repair, replacement, or another suitable remedy.

Commissions & Reserved Works

Works created on commission, reserved pieces, and custom orders are deeply personal and often developed in direct dialogue with the collector. As such, they are considered final from the moment production begins.

Deposits associated with these works are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.

A Relationship Beyond the Transaction

At its core, The Distelheim Gallery is built on the belief that collecting is a relationship—between the collector, the work, and the moment in which it was created.

Our policies are designed to protect the integrity of that relationship.

We are always available to answer questions, provide additional context, or guide you through a decision before acquisition. Because once a work enters your life, it is meant to remain there—with intention.
